Design Engineer

Software - Inventor

Our Client, based in Buckinghamshire, design and manufacture special purpose machinery and tooling.  They are seeking a Design Engineer - utilising Inventor software.

You will need to be:
Capable of the design of mechanical components and products within tight time scale constraints, producing manufacturing documentation using 2D and 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD Inventor).

Capable of generating innovative solutions and assisting in progressing designs from concept to production.

The Role:

Design Engineer - Inventor

You will be called upon to produce mechanical models, detailed component and assembly drawings using 3D CAD.

Responsible for mechanical design issues within the project team

Have close liaison with project teams, manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers and responsible for ensuring requirements are met

Examples of products:
Handling and Conveyor Systems
Packaging and filling machinery
Adhesive application systems

Essential to the role:
Mechanical design ability using AutoCAD Inventor

Proven track record of producing mechanical models, detailed component and assembly drawings using 3D CAD - Inventor

Mechanical design expertise, ideally a minimum of 3 years

Degree or HNC/ONC within mechanical engineering - or apprentice trained

Must have flexibility, drive and enthusiasm to see a job through to completion

Must have good problem solving skills

Beneficial to the role:

Experience of special purpose/high speed machinery

A Self-starter and able to work with little or no supervision

Have sound engineering judgement

Have experience of any of the following - plastic injection mouldings, sheet metal, pressed metal parts, castings, HP Die Castings, machined components, rubber mouldings etc.

You will be working with a small engineering team where communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Projects are varied and fast moving.

Software Used:  AutoCAD Inventor, MS Office
