Our Client, based in Aldershot, specialises in sieving and separation machinery. They design and manufacture the machines in the UK and also install and commission. They are heavily involved in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Having been established over 34 years, and with a solid client base in the UK, they have plans to increase the market share in the UK & Europe and are targeting that over the next year. As such they are looking to add to their team with the addition of a Mechanical Design Engineer.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing a range of components and systems for food, chemical and pharmaceutical processing machinery.
You will be supporting sales and production, travelling to clients sites to assess projects and following any design changes through as required.
Essential to the role
Previous experience in a mechanical engineering environment. Ideally HNC qualified or equivalent.
Applicants should have knowledge of process machinery and be able to produce clear engineering drawings for manufacture, assembly and bill of materials.
Beneficial to the role
Experience of using AutoCAD as this is the current system used in house.
Knowledge of Inventor as the company plans on upgrading in the future.
Drawings are predominantly required in 3D format, but 2D will be required for manufacture and assembly.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be required to set up a standard machinery specification file for each type of machine. This will include General arrangement, Installation and piece part drawings.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will also be required to design bespoke modifications based around the standard machine, as well as incorporating other equipment suppliers drawings into process layouts.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved in research and design of new products, as well as the evolution of the existing machinery to current legislation - in house training will be provided with regard legislative requirements.
Site visits will be required to prepare drawings for machinery or systems, as well as assisting in commissioning and ensuring finished installations are correct and to customer requirements

Benefits
Salary range between £26,000 - £28,000 per annum
