Project Manager

Location:  Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

Salary indication: £30,000 to £50,000

Purpose of the Job

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for managing the successful completion of projects. In particular the PM will ensure that the project successfully delivers a satisfactory result for our customer. This will require as a minimum that the project is delivered in accordance with the agreed specification, on time and within budgeted cost. To do this the PM will need to manage a wide range of different specialist personnel and suppliers and to build excellent relationships with all project stakeholders. 

 Necessary skills and qualifications

  • Previous project management experience of managing high value capital equipment
  • Good relevant engineering knowledge, with the ability to discuss all technical aspects of the project
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English, technical, commercial and contractual matters
  • Must be able to discuss, negotiate and resolve problems
  • Highly organized, with the ability to plan, forecast and develop alternative solutions to problems
  • Ability to lead and motivate a multi-disciplined team
  • Can interpret and present financial details and reports
  • Willing to travel overseas and work in all types of industrial plant, must have UK driving license
  • Keen to share knowledge, to learn and develop new skills
  • Good general computer skills, particularly, Excel, MS Project
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team

 Useful but not essential

  • Good engineering degree
  • Project management qualifications
  • Some materials handling knowledge
  • AutoCad or other CAD experience
