2D AutoCAD Draughtsperson
(Survey & Design – Commercial Ventilation Systems)

Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-driven 2D AutoCAD Draughtsperson to support the design and delivery of commercial kitchen ventilation and extraction systems.
This role combines site surveying with the production of accurate 2D CAD drawings, translating real-world site conditions into practical, installation-ready layouts. You will play a key role in ensuring systems are correctly designed, coordinated, and positioned within live project environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site surveys across commercial environments (restaurants, schools, industrial kitchens, etc.)
- Measure and record:
- Building layouts and dimensions
- Existing services and obstructions
- Ceiling heights, plant areas, and routing constraints
- Produce detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings, including:
- Extraction and ventilation layouts
- Ductwork routes and plant positioning
- Canopy and equipment locations
- Liaise with:
- Project managers
- Installation teams
- Fabrication/manufacturing teams
- Revise drawings in line with project changes and site conditions
- Produce as-built drawings post-installation
- Maintain drawing standards, layers, and document control procedures
Key Requirements
- Strong experience with AutoCAD (2D) in a professional setting
- Proven experience conducting site surveys (ideally in construction, MEP, or building services)
- Ability to interpret architectural and building services drawings
- Good understanding of spatial coordination and services routing
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for site and office coordination
- Full UK driving licence
