Design Engineer

The Job:
Working on projects for the oil and gas industry, and renewable energies sector, you will be an important part of the design team ensuring projects are delivered on time and in a cost-effective manner.
- Provide detailed design engineering for new projects, liaise with other departments to ensure understanding of all customer/project requirements and to support the Proposals, Purchasing, Project Management, Quality and Production teams.
- Produce detailed technical documentation including specifications and drawings for internal and subcontract manufacture.
- Produce economic engineered solutions, considering all aspects from materials to manufacturability and quality, whilst satisfying all customer and internal requirements. Liaising with suppliers on technical and engineering matters, ensuring knowledge of industry developments are kept up to date.
The Person
We are looking for someone with Mechanical Design experience who is conversant with Autodesk software packages – Inventor/Vault. A degree or relevant experience in an engineering field is essential.
Other preferable experience below:
- Organised, accurate and be self-motivated with an eye for detail.
- Good time-management skills and able to prioritise his/her work to ensure all the Design Engineering Team requirements are met on time.
- Holders of the role will need to demonstrate familiarity with the challenges of working on multiple projects and managing tasks effectively.
- Able to work as part of a team and can communicate effectively at all levels,
- Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering theory
- Technical report writing
- Experienced in Reviewing client documentation
- Experience working in a process orientated environment.
- Demonstrated clear evidence of technical competence, responsibility and professional conduct.
The Package:
Salary circa £35,000 per year +benefits. Hybrid position with 2 days WFH.
