The Job:

This is a hands-on engineering role within a busy production environment, ideal for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical bias. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of automated packaging machinery, helping to minimise downtime and support ongoing operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production equipment
  • Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns to minimise disruption
  • Lead electrical fault finding on machinery, including control panels, sensors, and drives
  • Support mechanical maintenance on conveyors, bearings, belts, and gearboxes
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability
  • Conduct site and equipment assessments, recommending corrective actions
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery
  • Support general site maintenance where required (with priority on production equipment)

The Person

  • Good experience in a multi-skilled engineering role
  • Strong electrical bias (approx. 70% electrical / 30% mechanical)
  • Proven experience working with packaging or automated machinery
  • Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

What we offer:

Salary up to £45,000 DOE
