The Job

As a Procurement Officer, you’ll play a vital role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supply chains for innovative clean-tech systems, while also supporting the implementation of a new ERP system. This is a multifaceted role combining hands-on procurement, systems thinking and collaboration across engineering, commercial and project teams.

You’ll contribute to key stage of technology development and scale-up, ensuring that the procurement process meets technical, budgetary and regulatory requirements.

This is an ideal role for someone with 5+ years’ experience in industry (ideally in chemical processing, oil & gas or similar) who is looking for a high-autonomy position that could evolve into a specialist or team leadership role as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop procurement specifications and manage sourcing processes.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships
  • Lead supplier performance and contract management activities
  • Ensure technical compliance with ISO 9001, Customer specifications and international regulations.
  • Contribute to commercial proposals and project planning.
  • Visit Vendor sites and attend technical meetings.
  • Track procurement KPI’s and report on cost and lead-time performance.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Support ERP implementation and act as a system champion within the business.
  • Collaborate cross-functionality to support engineering, sales and operational teams.

The Person

  • Degree-qualified or equivalent industry experience in a relevant field.
  • Proven procurement experience ideally in chemical or industrial settings
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and their impact on purchasing decisions is a plus.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a hands-on mindset.
