Senior Design Engineer
A unique SolidWorks Design Engineering role, for an experienced Engineer to work on a ground-breaking technology.
We are working with a thermochemical start-up that is pioneering the production of renewable fuels, chemicals and gases. Their patented hydrothermal treatment technology converts various forms of waste carbon using heat and pressure. Their objective is to become the lowest-cost green methanol before 2030.
Role Introduction
Do you want to see your ideas grow into reality? Your multifaceted role will be to develop, optimise and configure thermochemical hydrothermal processing technology from inception through to the commissioning and certification of a Pilot and First-Of-A-Kind (FOAK) green methanol plant.
You will be joining a highly focused scientific and engineering team developing hydrothermal treatment technologies. Your role will be to Head the company’s design team, developing and building upon PuriFire’s proven design concepts.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Promoting good design management of scale-up projects designed in our lab to achieve pilot plant status
- PuriFire’s technology is scalable, meeting future environmental needs
- Co-ordinating with and in support of project manager’s requirements
- Responsible for setting up design team structures to ensure the team is ready to deliver future projects
- Future challenges will centre around designing and building full-scale manufacturing plants and working with clients, partners, and academics globally.
- Promoting the company’s technologies at international industry conferences
Job Requirements
- Highly experienced in industrial / engineering design, having worked with pressure vessels or high-pressure steam systems.
- Candidates with experience in the nuclear or chemical production industries highly sought
- Good overall knowledge of material technology to be utilised in the design of our plants and equipment
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory standards and pressure directives
- Very experienced on SolidWorks with experience of all stages from complex design to manufacturing drawings
- Capable of driving innovation in First-Of-A-Kind (FOAK) technologies
- Enjoy building relationships with external bodies and trade organisations to deliver our project goals
