The Job

A long-established and respected engineering manufacturing company is looking to recruit an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join its production team.

This is a hands-on role building bespoke food processing equipment for customers in the UK and overseas. The work is varied and carried out within a well-established and stable manufacturing environment.

The role involves welding and fabricating stainless steel components and assemblies from 1.0mm to 12mm thickness, including pipework and purge welding. Both TIG and Synergic MIG welding processes are used. You will be expected to work from detailed engineering drawings and have a good understanding of tolerances, bend allowances and general fabrication techniques. Experience using sheet metal and fabrication machinery is essential.

The Person    

Applicants should have proven experience in stainless steel welding and fabrication and be confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings. A City & Guilds qualification in Welding and Fabrication or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship would be advantageous, though not essential for experienced candidates.

Details             

The position is contracted at 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working hours are:

Monday: 7.30am – 4.00pm
Tuesday: 7.30am – 4.30pm
Wednesday and Thursday: 7.30am – 5.00pm
Friday: 7.30am – 12.00pm

There is a 10-minute morning break and a 30-minute lunch break each day.

Overtime is generally available and paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings. A reasonable amount of overtime may be required in line with production demands.

Pay is dependent on experience. (Up to £20 per hour)
