About the Company:

Our Cambridgeshire based Client is a supplier of machinery to many of the UK's leading manufacturers of packaging solutions.  They’ve a wide range of products to suit customers in the corrugated and paperboard industries, including both new and used machinery, as well as the support services required for today’s market. They’re looking for an organised, quality focused and motivated individual capable of running their workshop, managing projects and a small team. Immediate start.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Managing the workshop team and their workloads
  • Leading and developing the team where necessary
  • Identifying areas for improvement, and implementing
  • Monitoring and maintaining the output quality of the workshop
  • You will be the ‘go to’ person for all project queries (external and internal)
  • Overall team and project management through the workshop
  • Administration
    • ordering/chasing of parts for projects
    • filing of all relevant and necessary project paperwork
  • Arranging and managing deliveries / goods-in inspection
  • Responsible for H&S within the Workshop

 

The Candidate:

  • Experience within a similar role is essential
  • Must have own tools
  • Hands on experience would be beneficial
  • A background in general engineering/maintenance would be beneficial
  • A good understanding of Workshop processes, equipment and safe working practices
  • Experience managing a small team
  • Buying experience – finding best deals, maintain Supplier relationships etc.
  • Project management experience
  • An innovative and forward thinking individual
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and solution focused
  • Ability to self-critique own work and accept constructive criticism

 

The Package:

  • Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. Half-hour lunch break.
  • £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, DOE
  • 20 days holiday (plus bank and public holidays)
  • Statutory pension scheme
